Wooden Temple
We build wooden temples and pooja mandirs by hand in our Naperville studio, using solid Oak, Birch, and Maple. Some customers call it a mandir, others say puja ghar or Thakur Ghar — whatever you grew up calling it, that's what we're making: a proper place for your idols, your diyas, and your morning prayers.
Prices run from $399 for a small tabletop temple up to $2,999 for a large floor-standing piece with drawers, cabinets, and a full Gopuram on top. Most of what you see on this page is available now or can be built in 1 to 4 weeks, depending on size. If you don't see the exact dimensions or finish you want, we take custom orders — send us a note through our contact form and we'll work out the details with you directly.
Each temple is built joint by joint, not mass-produced — drawers for your puja accessories, pull-out trays for your thali, carved trims, and in most cases a small light fitted inside. Finishes range from a natural varnished wood look to hand-painted white and walnut tones with red or gold accents, so you can match it to the rest of your home.
Delivery is free within 10 miles of our Naperville store for standard-size temples. Larger pieces may need a truck, so we charge a bit more for those, and pickup is always free with a scheduled slot. If you're outside the area, contact us and we'll figure out shipping.
This is our largest Oak temple, standing 74 inches tall and 40 inches long, hand built in two parts so it is easier to move into your home. The bottom section holds two soft close drawers and two cabinets for your puja accessories, plus a pull out tray for your thali and candles. 4 glass shelves are attached for additioanl small/medium size idols or framed photos of your deity. Twenty three golden bells are added by hand across the front and sides, along with an interior light on a twelve foot cord. Built in our Naperville studio from solid Oak plywood.

Our most spacious temple, with a 40 inch full size pull out tray topped in granite for easy cleaning, three drawers, and two cabinets on the base. The upper section holds five glass shelves for arranging idols separately, closed off with two bi-fold doors when not in use. An interior light with a color change option is included, and this piece ships in two parts.

A custom built Oak temple finished in a semi glossy walnut tone with hand painted white Acrylic detailing. Two doors trimmed in gold, with hanging bells and glass knobs, close off the altar. The bottom of the interior stands 3 feet tall for a large idol, with four small shelves above for smaller idols. An 8 inch drawer holds pooja items, and it arrives pre assembled with no setup needed.

Finished in a high gloss walnut Acrylic paint with a hand painted Om design on the back wall, it includes a 6.5 inch drawer, a pull out tray for candles and thali, and fifteen golden bells across the front and sides. Two extra steps are included for additional idols, and it comes pre assembled.

Built as a custom order, this Oak temple has an unusually large closed cabinet, 14 x 30 x 18 inches, sized for oversized puja items. A soft close pull out tray with a large crystal knob sits above the cabinet, and nine golden bells line the front. Built to fit into a corner, this Birch temple is finished in a high gloss white wash pickling stain that works with most home styles. A 6 inch drawer holds pooja accessories, and a 10 inch step is set 12 inches up from the base for extra idols. It comes pre assembled, a good fit for smaller rooms or apartments.

This traditional style temple has a hand carved scalloped crown along the top, with turned wooden pillars on each side and matching carved trim on the top shelf. Five brass bells hang across the front opening. The whole piece is finished in a rich walnut brown stain. Below the open altar space, there are two drawers for pooja accessories, a smaller top drawer with a round brass knob, and a larger bottom drawer decorated with carved fleur panels on each side and a long brass handle in the center. Turned spindle railings run along both side walls of the altar, and the temple sits on angled wooden feet.

At 80 inches, this is our tallest temple, built in two parts with a fixed Gopuram on top. The base includes two drawers, two cabinets, and a pull out tray, with twenty three golden bells placed by hand across the front and sides. An interior light with a color change option runs on a twelve foot cord. Close in design to our TMPCL402174 temple, but six inches taller.

This temple has a natural birch finish that shows off the wood grain rather than a painted or stained look. Three turned finials sit along the top edge, with carved trim along the front edge of the canopy and a scalloped apron below it. Three brass bells hang across the front opening, and turned wooden pillars support each corner. Below the altar space, there are two drawers, a shallow top drawer with a glass knob and a deeper bottom drawer with carved fleur panels and a brass handle.

This handmade wooden temple stands 42.5 inches tall and 29.5 inches long, hand crafted from premium quality Oak wood in a semi glossy Walnut finish.
The two front doors each have 3 oval cutouts with golden bells hanging behind them, 6 bells in total, along with glass knobs. Inside, a carved and gold accented Om mandala medallion sits on the back panel and glows warmly once the temple is lit. The crown at the top can be finished with a hand painted white lotus and scroll design using professional grade acrylic paint, or left plain in the walnut finish, whichever you prefer.
Storage includes a 5 inch deep drawer for pooja accessories plus an additional open shelf below the main cabinet for diyas and the puja thali. Sturdy construction and a pre-assembled build mean it's ready to place the day it arrives, no setup needed.
